Insiders Give Damning Verdict As Dapo Abiodun’s Chief Of Staff, Salisu Shuaib Plots To Take Amosun’s Senatorial Seat

Emerging details have it that Salisu Shuaib, the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Ogun State Dapo Abiodun has a big dream and he has started working on actualizing it.

Sources disclosed that Shuaib wants to unseat his former boss, Ibikunle Amosun as the Senator representing Ogun Central.

Societynow.ng gathered that Shuaib was the first Deputy Chief of Staff to Amosun when the latter was the Governor of Ogun State.

‘’But Amosun dropped him after a series of allegations about trust and related stuff’’ Societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed that in what appears to be a payback plot Salisu is quietly – but seriously – putting his influence as the Chief of Staff to new Governor Abiodun into play to take over Amosun’s current position as a Senator.

Insiders disclosed that Salisu is ‘’seriously’’ reaching out to political players and lobbying decision-makers within the APC in the bid to become the next Senator from Ogun Central, irrespective of whether Amosun wants to seek re-election or not.

Informants disclosed that Salisu is half-heartedly praying that talk of Amosun’s presidential ambition is ‘’true’’ and he may not have to go ‘’toe to toe’’ with the former governor, if possible.

‘’Shuaib is starting the campaign early in other to build as much momentum as possible ahead of the process that would determine who becomes next Senator to Ogun Central’’ Societynow.ng learned.

Those who should know, however, insist that all things being equal, the Chief of Staff is living in a ‘’fool’s paradise.’’

‘’Amosun is the singular most influential politician within the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State and one of the most formidable if not the most formidable politician in Ogun State at present, so how does the Chief of Staff who doesn’t even control Odeda (a part of Ogun Central) where he comes from get to upstage him whether he contests directly or through a proxy. Am yet to see that happen all things being equal’’ is the summation of opinions by those who should know about the plot by Salisu to take Over the Senatorial seat of Amosun.

Despite the intensity of the collation of political forces against him – quietly crumbling – Amosun has cornered virtually all the federal appointments zoned to Ogun State for his loyalists.

An insider further stated ‘’Let’s even be generous, and concede that the ticket of the All Progressives Congress for Ogun Central is wrested out of the hands of Amosun or any candidate he chooses (if he doesn’t want to re-contest), I can tell you for free that Amosun has the clout to win the election under any political platform he chooses, he is that formidable in his political stronghold’’
