A former governor of Ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel virtually lost the opportunity to be one of the greatest politicians for crumbs!.

Daniel recently – officially – announced his resignation from party politics.

And in his resignation “letter”, the former governor provided a clear point to his next step, the blueprint to greater heights.

And the popular politician was daring enough to reveal his secret weapons with the disclosure that he intends to focus on Gateway Front Foundation and Political Leadership Academy.

Former governor Segun Osoba is in the best position to talk about the effectiveness of Gateway Front Foundation.

The initiative provided Daniel with fertile ground to take power from Osoba in what is still regarded as a devastating defeat in Ogun state.

Multiple sources confirm Osoba – regarded as the master of the Ogun politics – is yet to find his rhythm since the defeat by Daniel.

“A lethal weapon that uprooted a formidable political machine in its entirety, that is what Daniel wants to resuscitate and to be aided with a political objectives booster in the former governor’s Political Leadership Academy” a source pointed.

The plot is simple according to a consensus of multiple opinions.

“Gateway Front Foundation would address the daily and basic needs of the populace while the Political Academy would give political orientation espouses Daniel’s ideals” societynow.ng learned.

Both the foundation and political academy relates with people across party lines.

“It’s an explosive combination for greatness, providing a helping hand to people with their basic and daily needs and subtly instilling a certain brand of political thoughts in their minds while maintaining no open tie to any political party” a source clarified.

But the cerebral mind that the put together such a formidable plot almost threw it away for the crumb.

Societynow.ng learned that in the attempt to satisfy – and retain the loyalty of – his followers Daniel almost bowed to the pressure of defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress from the People’s Democratic Party he just left.

The former governor directed his members to work for the emergence of the APC gubernatorial candidate Dapo Abiodun as the next governor of Ogun state.

“This was basically based on negotiation of enjoying certain perks in the new government” societynow.ng learned.

Societynow.ng learned that Daniel’s supporters want him to lead them into the APC – from the PDP – in the bid to get a “good” deal with his stature.

Daniel, a successful businessman, a former two-term governor of Ogun state, the former Director General of the Presidential Campaign of a sitting President and player in the highest echelon of the PDP before he resigned would naturally “get a good deal” for his followers if he defects with them.

“But this would be crumb compared to the vast potentials in the foundation and political game plan” a source pointed out and explained “the plan provided opportunities to have strong grass root base, ability to determine who wants what and negotiation power beyond measures”.

Daniel’s answer of “my people have spoken” in the face of pressure to defect to the APC almost made him swap the “great reward” of his original plan for the “crumbs” in defection.

“But it appears the public vilification and abuses that trailed the talks of defection have forced him to retrace his steps and embrace his original plan” a source insists in face of emphatic denial by the former governor that he has no plan to defect to the ruling party – after fans and associates expressed great disappointment in the move.
