Senator Solomon Adeola, representing Ogun West in the National Assembly, has described his 2025 birthday as a “purposeful unifier” for the people of Ogun State, expressing gratitude to political leaders, traditional rulers, associates, and supporters who celebrated with him on August 10.

In a personal statement, the lawmaker said the scale and warmth of this year’s celebrations were unparalleled in his life. “August 10 has always been a time to reflect on my life and thank my Creator for His unwavering presence. However, the way I was celebrated this year is unparalleled in my life’s journey,” he said.

Adeola singled out President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for initiating the celebrations in his honour, describing the president as his father, mentor, and benefactor.

He commended Tinubu’s policy direction, expressing confidence that the country is on the right path and that Nigerians would soon celebrate the president’s commitment to their well-being.

He also thanked Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, principal officers of both chambers, and all members of the National Assembly for their calls and messages. He extended similar appreciation to Ogun State governor Dapo Abiodun, former governor Aremo Olusegun Osoba, members of the state executive council, the state house of assembly, and federal cabinet member Iziaq Kunle Salako.

Adeola acknowledged traditional rulers across the three senatorial districts, including the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle; the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo; and the Akarigbo of Remo, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, among others, for their support and prayers.

The senator noted that birthday celebrations took place in all three senatorial districts of Ogun, with events in Ilaro, Abeokuta, and Ijebu Igbo drawing large crowds. “That the occasion of my birthday became a purposeful unifier irrespective of boundaries and creed for our people in Ogun State is something I thank God for. With unity of purpose, the sky is the starting point for our greatness,” he said.

Celebrations, he added, were not confined to the state, as well-wishers in Abuja and Nigerians in the diaspora also joined in.

Adeola, who marked the occasion by donating more than 100 electricity transformers across Ogun State, said he was humbled by the outpouring of love and support. “Whatever qualities or actions have earned me this outpouring of love and support, I vow to continue striving for excellence and serving humanity with humility and dedication,” he said, praying for joy, peace, and unity in communities across the state and the country.
