How Transport Union Boss MC Oluomo Is Making Big Money From Luxury Hotel He Completed Less Than A Year After Becoming NURTW Chairman

Less than a year after he became the chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Musiliu Akinsanya better known by the street name MC Oluomo has completed the hotel he struggled with for three years.

Akima is a fusion of MC Oluomo’s name Akinsanya Musiliu.

The Hotel is situated in the heart of Olumo’s stronghold in Oshodi societynow.ng confirmed.

Insiders disclosed that Oluomo completed the hotel just before Covid-19 took hold of the nation but was forced to shelve his plan for a grand opening because of the lockdown and subsequent staggered re-opening of the economy and social space based on protocol safe guarding against the pandemic, including social distancing.

Insiders disclosed that the invitation of popular Singer Davido (David Adeleke) and later controversial Naira Marley (Azeez Adeshina Fashola) were meant to attract the attention that the grand opening scrapped because of Covid-19 was supposed to achieve.

Insiders disclosed that the plan is to continue inviting attention-drawing persons to the hotel before a major ‘’opening’ planned for ‘’around December 2020.’’

Those who should know disclosed that the influence of Oluomo is a major patronage drive for the new hotel.

‘’MC Oluomo’s associates in the transport union, their friends, supporters, and associates are falling over themselves to patronize the hotel as a proof of support for the business of the NURTW chairman’’ societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed that Oluomo’s status as the chief street enforcer for powerful politician Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is also boosting business at Akima Hotel.

‘’The hotel is also getting patronage from the political circle. It is fast turning into the go-to place for certain contacts and connections within the short time it started operations’’ societynow.ng learned.

These factors are said to be increasing daily earnings at the hotel.

Insiders disclosed that the services at Oluomo’s Akima hotel are classified into regular, Vip, and VVIP.

The classification, just like in other places, determines the prices and exclusivity of the services offered.

Oluomo was appointed the chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the NURTW after fierce opposition from predecessor Tajudeen Agbede in September 2019.

He completed Akima Hotel – which he was struggled to build for three years before he became the NURTW top man in Lagos state – within a year after he took office.

The NURTW chairman position in Lagos state is widely acclaimed as one of the biggest money-making spots with estimated revenues per day running into millions of Naira.
