How Reps Member Is Playing Major Role To Determine Winner In Osun Guber

One of the persons that are playing a major role in determining the outcome of the Osun state gubernatorial election has been fingered.

The Osun State gubernatorial election is fixed for July 16, 2022, and Wole Oke has been fingered as one of those working extra- hard to influence a favorable outcome.

Oke is the House of Representatives member representing Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency of Osun State.

The deep pocket is on his fifth term as a house of representatives member losing just one election – in 2011 – since 1999.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that the chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has deployed the massive goodwill, clout, and influence he cultivated over the years to swing the July 16 gubernatorial election the way of his party.

He is said to be championing the campaign the get as many as the disenchanted loyalists of minister Rauf Aregbesola to support the PDP gubernatorial candidate Demola Adeleke against Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

Aregbesola suffered a profile denting defeat in his bid to stop Oyetola from getting the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial ticket for the July election.

The minister has adopted an “emotionless approach” to the campaign to help Oyetola get re-elected since then.

Reps member Oke is said to be strongly leveraging on his pedigree as a cheerful giver and benefactor of many across party lines.

“Gifts of cars, employment opportunities, empowerment efforts, and outright cash are said to be commonplace with him over the years and beneficiaries cut across party and social lines” SsocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Added to Oke’s credit is said to be “large givings” to the traditional institution in the state.

The traditional rulers across broad are beneficiaries of his generous giving in cash and kind, including gifts of automobiles according to information abound.

“It is this massive influence that Oke is deploying to swing votes the way of Adeleke while Oyetola and his team contend with the inaction of Aregbesola and amid other things” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

Aregbesola, a two-term Governor of Osun ( 27 November 2010 – 27 November 2018) groomed APC in Osun state and retains an appreciable following on the streets.

The support base that Oke is plying huge pressure on with promises of better treatment and started taking by piecemeal as Aregbesola remains silent on giving a direction regarding the 2022 Osun Gubernatorial election.

Oke’s move is particularly instructive because with Aregesola’s backing, Oyetola had a narrow win against Adeleke in the 2018 Osun gubernatorial election.
