Fuji King Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe better known as KWAM1 would have become the poster boy of why musicians should stick to the covid-19 safety rules as laid down by the Lagos State Government- but for the unforeseen by those behind the move.

The Fuji King and holder of the title Mayegun – General was on the bandstand at the infamous party that resulted in the shutdown and revocation of the operating license of event place, Queens Park in Oniru, Lagos state.

The party held on Boxing day – December 26, 2020 – was defied off all the safety rules regarding covid-19 as the government struggles with the second wave of infection.

Videos of the party, which have attracted widespread condemnation, show Kwam1 bellowing out praises and lyrics that spurred wiggling and jiggling in the heavily jam-packed all.

The videos show a full to the brim venue, no face masks, and guests interacting at will.

And it didn’t help the sixty-something-year-old musician’s case that one of the guests at the party was reportedly battling Covid-19 infection.

Societynow.ng gathered that aside from shutting down and revoking the operating license of the venue in response to the recklessness displayed, top players in government advised that Kwan1 should be “heavily sanctioned” to serve as a guide to other entertainers on the kind of engagements that identify with during this trying people.

“The argument was that Wasiu is a big fish and he was caught in the perfect situation to be made an example of” societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed that this move was backed by the majority of those at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19 in Lagos state but the Fuji musician escaped punishment by a whisker.

“He was saved by the refusal of the overriding authority to sign off on the move. His loyalty as a party member and closeness to the seat of power bailed him out. He was left off the hook with a slap on the wrist in the name of warning behind” societynow.ng learned.
