Former Gubernatorial aspirant, Abimbola Asiru has remained silent as intrigues over who gets this or that position in 2023, particularly in the ruling All Progressives Congress erupting in Ogun State.

Ashiru who served as two-term commissioner – 2011 to 2019 – in the immediate past administration of Ibikunle Amosun was a frontline aspirant for the 2019 Ogun state gubernatorial election until he abided by party decision and pledged support to eventual winner Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The Masters’ Degree in Strategic Management holder was appointed to represent Ogun State on the Board of Odu’a Investment Company Limited, the strategic investment and asset management firm owned by Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti, and Ondo states after the election. He has played off the glare politicking since then.

Ashiru who held positions like Director, Corporate Affairs and Corporate Social Investments and Country Director, Personal and Business Banking – in the banking sector – before he switched to politics has managed not to be caught in the crossfire of infighting and struggle for control rocking the APC in Ogun state by focusing on his mandate at Odua Investment Company SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

“Bims ( shortened Bimbo) has refused to be drawn into any controversy and keeping his game plan for 2023 very close his chest” SocietyNow.Ng further learned.

2023 is the year for the next general election in Nigeria and determines a new set of political office holders at the National and State level.

Though he is keeping his plan for 2023, Asiru has been doused at different times in talks of interest in the governorship and senatorial positions.

“Since Governor Abiodun wants a second term, I doubt the gubernatorial interest talks. The claims of senatorial ambition I can’t comment on that. He is not talking to anybody, not letting people into his plan” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
