Guber Aspirant Akinlade To Be Settled With Gbolahan Dada’s Senatorial Ticket

Insiders disclose high wire politicking might have effectively changed the course of gubernatorial aspirant, Isiaq Akinlade’s ambition.

Informants disclose there are strong indication he ends up as a Senator.

And at stake is the seat of Gbolahan Dada, the Senator representing Ogun West.

Akinlade also from Ogun West is one of those championing the agenda of his people to be given the chance to become the next Governor of Ogun state.

He is one of the visible aspirants for the position under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.

But after days of whispers of possible defection, he has now officially switched allegiance to ”common enemy” Governor Ibikunle Amosun and the All Progressives Congress.

Those who should know however claimed, contrary to talks and assertions in some quarters, Akinlade’s switch is not to make him the gubernatorial candidate of the APC.

“It is just another master stroke by Amosun to further weaken the already fractured agitation by the Yewas to be governor, he will be given a Senatorial candidate as the coast becomes clearer for Amosun to install his man” an insider stated.

Contrary to public posture, sources disclose the governor’s choice is an arch loyalist from Ijebu East.

The individual said to be rooted culturally within the area and politically – as well as socially – beyond the zone is said to already have the tacit backing of the powerful structure known as “Orisa Ijebu” (Ijebu Deity).
