And insiders claim in the face of interests from about three close confidants in his cabinet, he appears to have his eyes fixed on an early choice – Senator Gbolahan Dada.

The Senator represents Ogun West Senatorial district, the only area yet to produce a Governor in the state.

Insiders claim Governor Amosun wants to leverage on this move by picking his successor from the area, specifically from the high votes area of Ota, Ogun state.

Senator Dada is a prince from Ota.

His father was the immediate past traditional ruler of affluence and influence, Olota Oba Timothy Dada.

”Gov Amosun owns the most virile political structure in Ogun state at present, he wants to strengthen his chances by tapping in on the age long yearnings of the people of Ogun West to become governor” a source stated.

Sources claim aside this, he wants to go down in history as the man that gave the area opportunity to become governor – a feat ex governor Gbenga Daniel attempted but failed to accomplish.

Insiders claim away from the political permutations and intrigues, both Governor Amosun and Senator Dada are ‘very good friends’.

According to background checks, their relationship transcends politics.

Senator Dada is described as very instrumental to the myth of gargantuan wealth that decorated Amosun’s entry into politics.

He is said to have pooled together group of friends with billionaire Tayo Ayeni as central character to form a forum of committee of friends that provided financial muscle, material and influence support for Amosun’s political entry.

”I heard he leveraged on his clout as a prince and the connections afforded by his wealthy background to put together a support group made up of indegenes and non indegenes that defied all odds see Amosun through into the Senate..that is the kind of relationship they have” a source defined.

Informants further alleged Dada and members of the support group have retained their status quietly and providing needed support over the years.

‘That was why it was easy for Prince Dada to emerge a Senator in the face of myriads interests from other associates of Governor Amosun’ another source claimed.

Insiders revealed a reincarnation of his success during the Senatorial election is what is being plotted for him to succeed Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
