Governor Nyesom Wike’s Police Aides Sacked For “Firing & Causing Panic In Crowd” During Rivers Rerun Election

An inspector and five sergeants attached to the Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike have been booted out of the police force.

The individuals identified as Eyong Victor, Peter Ekpo, Ogunni Goodluck, Orji Nwoke, Ekpe Ezekiel and Tank Akor were dismissed for misuse of fire arms and involvement in electoral fraud during the December 10 2016 Rivers Legislative rerun elections.

They were alleged to have stormed Port Harcourt City Council Secretariat and prevented the movement of election results
They took laws into their hands and opened fire causing panic in the crowd Force Public Relations Officer, Donald Awunah stated.

The sacked officers protested their dismissal as they were led away in cuff from the Police Headquarter Abuja.

The sacked police men face prosecution under electoral act.
