“The First Thing I Will Do If Tinubu Gives Me Appointment” – Wike
credited with delivering Rivers State’s votes to Tinubu
Immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has revealed the first thing he will do if offered an appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Governor who declared that he wants to rest after eight years as the Governor of Rivers State revealed that he would first consult with his wife, Eberechi Suzette Wike, and friends to determine whether to take the appointment or not.
“If he asks me, the first thing I will do is ask my wife and friends what they think about it.
“I will also assess myself if I’m prepared. I will never do what I’m not ready for,” Wike stated in a chat with BBC Pidgin.
Eberechi, the former Governor’s wife is a Judge of the Rivers State High Court.
Wike, however, clarified that ” “Tinubu has not informed me about getting an appointment; I’m not too big to serve my country, but he has never told me that he would give me an appointment.”
Wike who was Governor from 2015 to 2023 is unofficially credited with delivering Rivers State’s votes to Tinubu in the February 28, 2023, Presidential election.
Tinubu is the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while Wike is a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
