Tomorrow is the day.

The shadow election to determine the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the vacant seat of Osun West Senatorial district holds tomorrow.

It was initially planned for today, but political intrigues forced a play for tomorrow.

The seat was formerly occupied by deceased lawmaker, Isiaka Adeleke – a member of the APC at the time of death.
48hrs ago, Governor of the state Rauf Argebesola appeared to have cornered the slot for his preferred choice Mudashir Hussein.

It appeared the shadow election only a formal ratification of the Governor’s anointed candidate.

The major casualty of the move was Demola, the younger brother of Isiaka Adeleke who mounted an unexpected campaign to inherit his brother’s political seat.

But 24hrs ago, the table suddenly turned.

Leveraging on the weight and influence of the National Secretariat of the APC, forces from out the state caged Aregbesola and outplayed his favoured candidate.

The development is said to have returned Demola Adeleke to reckoning and Governor Aregbesola empty handed as the shadow election inches in.

“but that is not to say he is staying idle…far from it, he is working hard to reverse the decision that knocked out his candidate until it is seen as sealed and irreversible” a source stated.
The current predicament of the governor is said to have roots in the machinations of those who viewed him as over reaching and on verge of creating an atmosphere that may consume APC in the state, in the plot to take away the ticket from Demola Adeleke.

And these individuals are labeled “from out of the state”.

Wether the governor wriggle out of his “cage” before the deed is confimed with the shadow election remaisn to be seen.
