Gov Fintiri To Withdraw “C of O”, Demolish Houses Where Looted Properties Are Found In Adamawa

The Governor of Adamawa state Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has threatened to withdraw the Certificate of Occupancy or demolish any house where looted government and private properties are found.

The Governor says he would back this move with the law by signing an executive order for House to House in a bid to recover stolen items under the guise of the hunt for palliatives.

A report monitored by societynow.ng on newswireng.com disclosed the Governor disclosed that “part of the provision of the order is a sanction that will attract withdrawal of Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) and if necessary, demolition of every house that habours any of the stolen properties”

The Governor urged all law enforcement agents to enforce the order once it comes into force in a broadcast he made on Tuesday, October 27, 2020.

Fintiri issued the threat in the face of a 12 hours ultimatum given to residents of Adamawa state to return all stolen items to the houses of traditional or police stations nearest to those who looted.

The ultimatum lapsed today, Wednesday, October 28, 2020.
