Governor of Ondo State Rotimi Akeredolu has given Tajudeen Baruwa, the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) a heavy blow.

The Governor has completed the taking away of the NURTW highest earners in the SouthWest.

Akeredolu has banned the activities of the transport union in Ondo state in the face of its leadership’s refusal to agree to make the government preferred candidate state chairman.

This development comes after the Oyo state and Lagos state towed the same line based on related reasons.

Lagos Government suspended the NURTW’s activities based on an invitation by state chairman MC Oluomo (Musiliu Akinsanya) as a result of spiraling out of control power tussle with Baruwa.

MC Oluomo is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) enjoys the backing of the Lagos political establishment.

Governor Makinde was the first to ban NURTW in state and replace it with the Park Management model after the refusal of the transport union leaders to make his loyalist Auxilliary (Mukaila Lamidi) state chairman.

Auxiliary was appointed the head of the Oyo state park management team.

Ogun State towed the same path over the refusal of the NURTW leaders led by Baruwa to accept Iyeru (Akeem Bodunrin) as state chairman.

Iyeru was made the chairman of the Ogun state park management team.

The latest happenstance in Ondo state has thrown Idajo ( Jacob Adebo) the head of the Oyo State Park Management team.

Idajo – the choice of the government – was rejected by the NURTW leaders as the state chairman of the association in Ondo state forcing Akeredolu to ban its activities.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that why this is a big deal for Baruwa is that he is seeking another term in office and the association election is scheduled for next year – 2023.
