Gov Ibikunle Amosun

Otunba Gbenga Daniels, the former Governor of Ogun state has surrendered in determining a successor for his successor.

Sources claim after gubernatorial aspirant Ladi Adebutu scuttled his plot of a grand alliance of oppositions to stop outgoing Governor Ibikunle Amosun from determining his successor, Daniels threw up his hands.

He has now told all the aspirants to go find a way to work together or fight for the People’s Democratic Ticket and whoever emerges as candidate automatically gets his support.

This was said to be the former governor’s initial stand until the possible consequence of untamed fight amongst the aspirants forced him to attempt a compromise in the bid to achieve a common goal.

But popular gubernatorial aspirant Ladi Adebutu ferociously kicked against the compromise that would see him cede parts of his control of the state chapter of the PDP to his “rivals” within the party.

Adebutu’s arch enemy – but former mentor – Senator Kashamu Buruju was named in the planned compromise.

Adebutu also alleged Daniel was making the attempt secure loyalty of all factions involved through the back door.

The Gubernatorial aspirant claimed he knew he would emerge candidate but powers – to make things happen- shredded to others.

Adebutu’s opposition to Daniel’s grand pot scuttled the planned compromise.

“And Otunba has surrendered on the attempt which he believes the most effective to stop Amosun from continuing his rule by producing a successor” a source stated.

Sources further disclosed to societynow.ng that the former Governor has reverted to “default mode” and told all aspirants seeking his support to secure the PDP ticket and he would throw in all he has in support.
