Gbenga Daniel Joins Growing Rank Of Atiku’s Presidential Ambition’s Major Backers

It is official.

Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the former Governor of Ogun state has picked his presidential candidate.

And this is even as his political party, People’s Democratic Party is yet to decide on flag bearer.

Those who should know disclosed the influential People’s Democratic Party Chieftain is naturally not supporting re-election seeking President Muhammadu Buhari – who is a member of rival All Progressives Congress.

The former Governor’s presidential aspirant of choice is disclosed as Atiku Abubakar.

Daniel’s and Atiku are said to share same views regarding governance and approach to politics as related to the economic development of the states and nation.

The former Governor is widely acknowledged as the “best performing” state helms in Ogun state.

He opened up the state to economic and infrastructural development – and generally changed the face of the state from that of a colorless civil service place to a bubbling economic nerve center.

And he achieved all these in the face of an intense protracted political battle with party man and sitting President Olusegun Obasanjo.

“Such a man throwing his weight behind the ambition of Atiku sure says a lot about the former vice president’s presidential aspiration” is the song decorating Otunba Daniel’s latest political move.

Sources further revealed to societynow.ng that Atiku isn’t just a mere backer, he is said to be putting his mouth where his money is by becoming deeply involved in Atiku’s presidential campaign.

Information available has it that the former Governor has been appointed to the highest level of the campaign organization.

“I believe he would fully in charge of orchestrating the campaign in the southwest and providing vital inputs into workings in other regions” a source stated.
