Senator Gbenga Daniel has provided an update on the ongoing construction of the Nigerian Naval Base in Abigi, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area, emphasizing the project’s transformative potential for the region.

The ambitious development includes a wide range of facilities such as schools, a hospital, residential accommodations comprising flats and duplexes for naval officers and ratings, an administrative office complex, worship centers, a sports complex, and recreation facilities according to the Senator representing Ogun East.
Currently, over two kilometers of fencing are under construction, supported by more than 50,000 concrete blocks delivered to the site. Boreholes have been drilled to ensure access to water, while raft foundations for the fence and buildings are already underway.

He noted its potential to generate employment, drive infrastructure development in surrounding areas, and spur economic prosperity through the creation of supply chains and job opportunities for residents.

The senator reaffirmed his commitment to seeing the project through to completion, emphasizing its significance as a cornerstone of development in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area.

“This naval base will not only strengthen national security but also uplift our communities by fostering growth and development,” he stated.
With steady progress on-site, the naval base stands as part of Senator Daniel’s contribution to sustainable development and improved livelihoods for Ogun State citizens.
