Fresh Trouble For Demola Adeleke As Insurance Boss Akin Ogunbiyi Goes On The Offensive

Whatever hold the former Senator Demola Adeleke has on the People’s Democratic Party in Osun state – via his extended family’s influence – is about eradicated.

Societynow.ng learned this development is as a result of the latest move by Mutual Benefits Insurance Boss, Akin Ogunbiyi.

Ogunbiyi conceded the PDP gubernatorial ticket for the last governorship election in Osun state to Adeleke based on the understanding he would be given a Senatorial ticket.

The Adeleke camp – after the PDP lost the gubernatorial election – failed to honor the agreement reached with Ogunbiyi.

Reports monitored by societynow.ng on highstreet.ng revealed that Ogunbiyi is spending heavily to take control of the PDP structure in Osun state ahead of the next gubernatorial election,

Highstreet.ng’s sources confirmed that Ogunbiyi is still very much interested in becoming the governor of Osun state.

Societynow.ng’s independent investigation confirmed this assertion.

Further checks revealed that Ogunbiyi is spending heavily to secure the loyalty of the ‘’powers that be’’ well ahead of the contest.

‘’The move will help him to neutralize the influence of the Adelekes, especially with talks Demola Adeleke may have another go at the Osun governorship seat’’ an insider interpreted.

The Adeleke family, with wealthy Deji Adeleke –musician Davido’s father – as the champion of its cause ( after the death of Isiaka Serubawon Adeleke), is a formidable political force in the politics of Osun state.

The family’s popularity, however, took a huge hit with the controversies that decorated the Senator turned gubernatorial candidate Demola Adeleke during the campaign, the election and after.

Ogunbiyi is working at further ‘’reducing the influence of the Adeleke family’’ within the party to have an easy ride when the time to determine the next gubernatorial candidate comes societynow.ng learned.
