Fresh Trouble Comes Knocking On Gov Amosun’s Door In Plot To Stop APC Guber Candidate Dapo Abiodun From Becoming Successor!

Fresh trouble is knocking on the door of Governor of Ogun state Ibikunle Amosun societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed this development is tied to the passionate attempt by Governor Amosun to stop Dapo Abiodun, his party’s gubernatorial candidate from becoming his successor.

Amosun is backing preferred choice Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied People’s Movement to win the Ogun state gubernatorial election.

The Allied People’s Movement is a rival party to Amosun’s All Progressives Congress.

Societynow.ng, however, learned Amosun faces an emerging challenge in his bid.

‘’And a very grave challenge” a source disclosed to societynow.ng.

The governor’s supporters expected to move en-mass to the APM to provide much-needed support for Akinlade’s gubernatorial ambition – and make the party formidable via membership drive – are sitting tight with the governor in APC.

‘’For example, some of the chairmen have moved with Akinlade to APC but the councillors who are larger in numbers are staying put in APC” societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed the position of the councillors is being adopted by other classes of governor Amosun’s supporters across Ogun state.

Societynow.ng gathered that to worsen the situation for Amosun, Dapo Abiodun and his backers are targeting the governor’s key supporters and wooing them over with promises of appointments and related appeasements.

‘’The other side is working hard on Amosun’s people trying to break their ranks with promises of this and that, including immediate compensation of monetary gifts” a source stated.

The added information available to societynow.ng has it that a major campaign is also being executed against Amosun in his bid to become a Senator.

‘’Outside of the threats to take away his APC senatorial ticket, massive campaigns are being deployed against him in Ogun central where he is contesting. The campaigns are making him hugely unpopular with the belief he may not win speedily gaining momentum” a source stated.

Societynow.ng gathered the campaigns against Amosun’s support for Akinlade – in the face of poaching of the governor’s key supporters and crowd pullers – have also reached such a height that the saying on the streets of Ogun state is that ‘’Akinlade can’t make 2nd position in the coming election”.

‘’it’s a huge challenge Amosun is facing in Ogun state. It’s a major trouble knocking on his door and it will be very interesting to see how he survives it” a watcher of political events in Ogun state surmised.
