Former Police Boss, Alhaji Musiliu Smith Honoured

Former police boss, Alhaji Musiliu Smith is still very much gaining accolades for his exemplary conducts even out of uniform.

The notable Nigerian recorded a new recognition in this regard recently.

The hugely popularly area known as Panti street in Lagos state- it housed the acclaimed anti vice squad of the police- was renamed Musiliu Smith street via a joint effort by the Police community in that area and the Yaba Local Development Area.

The event which held at the Oluremi Tinubu Hall, Yaba was as low profile as the honouree is modest.

Devoid of the usual fun fare much loved by those who trumpet every achievement to high heavens- it was the calibre of guest that signified the importance of the occasion.

Among those that graced the occasion were Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Rigim, Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akinolu, Yakubu Alkali, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Fakai and Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola.

The honouree, Alhaji Musiliu Adeola Kunbi Smith was appointed Inspector General of Police in May 1999 and retired in March 2002 after what keen followers of his career tagged exemplary.

Out of office he was appointed Chairman, Skye bank Board of Directors In 2006, and later he heads Lagos state Security Council in 2007.
His other social and business engagements are kept on the same level as his lifestyle- very low profile.
