Estranged allies are back in the same camp as the forces against Governor Ibikunle Amosun continue to align together in Ogun state.

Former Governor of Ogun state Aremo Olusegun Osoba and Ex-Speaker of the state House of Assembly Muyiwa Oladipo are back together.

And they are working together to ensure that All Progressives Congress retains control of the government of Ogun state.

Governor Amosun wants preferred candidate Adekunle Akinlade who is operating on the platform of the Allied People’s Movement to take control of the state.

Osoba and Oladipo are backing Dapo Abiodun, the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Ogun state to succeed Amosun.

Osoba and Oladipo served in the last administration of the Alliance for Democracy in Ogun state as Governor and Speaker respectively.

They were knocked out of government when Gbenga Daniel assumed reins of power as Governor on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.

Oladipo had departed the AD and moved out of the shadows of Osoba to team up with the All Nigeria’s People’s Party where he formed a political alliance with governor Amosun.

Oladipo returned to power in Ogun state as a commissioner when Amosun became Governor.
He retained status as commissioner in the administration Amosun till date.

Oladipo’s rapport with Amosun had naturally pitched him against Osoba who was at the receiving end of the incumbents rise to power and consolidation of political clout.

The duo has, however, put aside personal differences to protect party’s interest as Governor Amosun plots a handover of the reins of power to a rival party.

Oladipo was one of those that showed interest in succeeding governor Amosun before Abiodun emerged APC gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state.
