Forces Pushing Demola Adeleke To Succeed Aregbesola As Osun Gov Next Year

Demola Adeleke, the newly elected Senator representing Osun West wants to succeed state governor Rauf Aregbesola.

The duo does not see eye to eye and belong to different political parties.

The animosity between the two politicians actually forced Demola out of the All Progressives Congress to become Senator on the platform of rival People’s Democratic Party.

And after defeating the governor’s candidate and sitting commissioner, Mudashiru Hussein to attain his new status – Demola wants to put the icing on the cake of his ambition by becoming his “political enemy’s” successor.

I, Influences That Made Him Senator

Sources disclose Demola is banking on cashing on the influences that transformed him Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Insiders disclose he believes the sympathy of his brother’s death is still there and that the general knowledge that before his controversial death, the late Isiaka Adeleke has kick started moves to become next governor of the state would be a great edge in helping him to achieve his gubernatorial ambition

II, Admiration Of Early Show Of Concern For The People

Barely two weeks after he became Senator, Demola was instrumental to the release of a number of detained suspects from prison custody.

He helped them to fulfill their bail bond.

He has also set up a scholarship scheme for students as well as empowerment program for locals in and out of his senatorial zone.

For someone barely, 3 months in office, this show of concern – and continuing efforts – is said to be part of factors giving him conviction of people’s support when the time comes

III, Adeleke Structure

The powerful Adeleke structure is said to be fully politically awake in Osun state.

All this is thanks to the defeat meted out to the candidate of sitting governor Rauf Aregbesola that transformed Demola Adeleke senator.

The Adeleke structure is said to be very much in-love in making Demola the next Governor of Osun state.

The structure with billionaire Deji Adeleke – father to popular singer, Davido- as arrow head is said to believe that one of them becoming the next governor of Osun state is a birth right and mere fulfilment of the agenda in place before Isiaka’s shocking death.

IV, Favorable Zoning Formula

The zoning formula in Osun state is said to favor Osun West to produce the next governor of the state.

Aregbesola and his predecessor Olagunsoye Oyinlola are out of the place.

It is the turn of Osun west is the unspoken agreement amongst politicians in the state.

And the zone which Demola represents and the Adeleke structure has a firm hold over is said to have the votes to back up their claim.

V, Internal Squabbles In APC & Aregbesola’s popularity

Emerging details have it that there is a sizzling internal squabble in the All Progressives Congress over who succeeds governor Rauf Aregbesola.

Already the APC youths – And professionals from Osun – are said to have a candidate of their own without the support of Aregbesola.

The governor’s political backers from out of the state have another opinion on who is better qualified to become the next governor.

And Ogeni, as he is fondly called, is said to have his eyes in a totally different direction.

And is said to be afflicted with popularity issues within his party and among his strong loyalists over decisions he forced in the loss of Osun West senatorial election that reawakened PDP in the state.

Demola and his crew are looking forward to exploiting this “crisis” in APC to achieve their aim.

VI, The Ambition Is A Win Win Situation For The Adeleke Structure

And above all, the Adeleke structure believes putting Demola forward is a no cost venture for them.

The National Assembly has covered members with a rule that allows federal lawmakers to retain their seats while contesting for gubernatorial elections.

If Demola losses, he returns to his seat in the Senate.

But if he wins, he becomes Governor and leaves the structure in stronger position to determine who replaces him as a Senator.

“After all, they control the area and now have the added advantage of their man in power as governor of the state” a source pointed out.
