Flight Disruption: Cases Against Kwam1, Emmanson Dropped…Fuji Star To Be Named Ambassador
Keyamo said the decisions followed consultations with stakeholders
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has announced the withdrawal of criminal complaints against fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as Kwam 1, and Ms. Comfort Emmanson, a passenger involved in an incident aboard an Ibom Air flight.
Keyamo said the decisions followed consultations with stakeholders in the aviation sector and appeals from well-meaning individuals.

Emmanson, who was detained after an incident on August 10, 2025, will be released from Kirikiri Prisons this week after Ibom Air withdrew its complaint. The minister also confirmed that the Airline Operators of Nigeria agreed to lift the lifetime ban earlier imposed on her.
For Kwam 1, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) reduced his flight ban to one month and will drop its criminal complaint. Keyamo said the musician will work with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) as an ambassador for proper airport security protocol.

The minister added that the NCAA will restore the licences of ValueJet pilots, Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba, after a one-month suspension and mandatory professional reappraisal.
Keyamo said the actions were taken on compassionate grounds but warned that the government remains committed to enforcing safety and security regulations in the aviation sector.
