Finally, Dapo Abiodun Rescues Osoba From The Shackles Of Amosun

Former Governor of Ogun State Aremo Olusegun Osoba is riding in the politics of Ogun State.

A commissioner Oludare Sunday Kehinde just got suspended for misspeaking about the former governor.

The incumbent governor Dapo Abiodun tendered a public apology to Aremo Osoba for the ‘’indiscretion’’ of the commissioner.

A radio station, Sweet F.M – and other platforms – did a show dedicated to the good deeds of Osoba as a governor and political leader. And many called in lauding the ‘’goodness’’ of the political leader.

‘’Osoba has not had it this good since he left office as Governor of Ogun state’’ a source stated.

And the checks made by societynow.ng confirmed this.

Osoba relocated out of Ogun state barely weeks after he was trounced in his re-election bid by his successor Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

The former governor could not stand the heat of the antics of the government that succeeded him and left the state with his followers in disarray.

Osoba’s exit from the political scene allowed Gbenga Daniel to establish an intimidating political structure in the state that serves him in good stead to date.

It took the fallout between President Olusegun Obasanjo and Gbenga Daniel aided by an implosion within the People’s Democratic Party to deny Daniel the ability to install his preferred successor.

Osoba returned to relevance when Ibikunle Amosun, the candidate he sided with took over power from Daniel.

Later events, however, showed Osoba suffered worse treatment in his dealing with Amosun.

Amosun, a pragmatic politician who takes no prisoners in his political fights demystified Osoba and rendered him powerless in Ogun state.

‘’The height of it was when Osoba pulled his political machinery into another political party to contests against Amosun’s structure, they were mercilessly beaten by Amosun and his people at the poll. Osoba could not even win the election of his son, Olumide’’ a source reminiscences.

Societynow.ng learned that this development greatly took away points from Osoba and many people declared him a featherweight politician whose time is past.

‘’Based on that many people believed Osoba was lucky to be on the side of new Governor Dapo Abiodun in the last general election. The widespread perception was that his major support to Abiodun’s victory was to help the governor get the gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress and many didn’t really reckon with him as such’’ a source claimed.

But all that is changed based on the manner Governor Abiodun handled the case of the commissioner that openly derided Osoba.

The governor openly castigated the commissioner in an open statement while talking up the virtues of Osoba as a great leader.

The commissioner has been suspended from office amid different efforts that shore up the image and rating of Osoba as a political leader in Ogun state.

Senator Gbenga Obadara, a strong ally of Osoba and key component of the coalition of political forces that brought Governor Abiodun to power put the icing on the cake of the revamping of Osoba.
