Information filtering in has it that former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi is out of the country.

Sources claim the development comes on the heels of failure to secure much touted appointment as Secretary to The Government of the Federation.

It was initially believed that the former governor believed to be one of the major driving forces behind the All Progressives Congress was earmarked for the position of Secretary to the Government of the Federation in recognition of his relevance.

But in a shocking twist President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Babachir David Lawal, a totally out of picture candidate to fill the strategic office.

The development is said to record the second big loss for Mr Ameachi since he teamed he crossed over to the APC to help take over the reins of the affairs of the Federal Government from his former party People’s Democratic Party.

Insiders claimed he was initially promised a Vice Presidential slot during the campaign but lost out in an intense high profile intra party struggle that attempted to snuff the light out of another powerful party chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The SGF ticket was reportedly informally agreed to calm the nerves of the former Rivers governor and his supporters.

But the promise has turned a mirage with the appointment of Babachir Lawal.

Information here and there revealed the former governor decided to travel out in the midst of speculations and conjectures that continue to trail his inability to clinch the Secretary to the Government of the Federation position to ‘clear his head’.

According to a source ‘he needs a break from all these permutation and raging talks…he needs to move out of the environment and take a look at things from the outside…it is a break to restrategise sort off’ an informant divulged/

Information monitored on news spotter, pointblanknews claim the former state helms man sojourned to the London for his much needed break.

Further digs revealed that Amaechi’s inability to secure the much coveted appointment has roots in two areas: inability to install a desired successor as Governor of Rivers state and intense underground within his party, the APC.

The man who currently occupies the seat of Governor of Rivers state is all out to get the former governor.

It is believed a voluminous report on alleged corruption of the former governor the incumbent sent to the President played a huge part in the game of fate against Amaechi.

President Buhari riding on the wave of anti corruption posture is said to greatly shy away from appointing an individual that would be enmeshed in allegations of corruption into vital positions in his government.
