The fight is over.

Societynow.ng confirmed that Tajudeen Agbede, the immediate past chairman of the Lagos state chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has accepted Musiliu Akinsanya better known as MC Oluomo has his successor.

The development puts to rest the protest rocking the emergence of MC Oluomo as the new Chairman of the NURTW in Lagos state.

Agbede is a sympathizer of the immediate past Governor of Lagos state Akinwumi Ambode while MC Oluomo is a strong follower of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Both Tinubu and Ambode are estranged with the former governor staying put abroad to avoid the wrath of the powerful politician.

Agbede – now one of the national vice presidents NURTW – fought fiercely against the chairmanship ambition of MC Oluomo.

But the efforts failed spectacularly, especially when Tajudeed Ibikunle Baruwa the candidate backed by MC Oluomo – against Agbede – became the national President of the transport union body.

Baruwa’s first decision when he assumed office was to announce MC Oluomo as the Chairman of the caretaker committee to run the affairs of the NURTW.

The development resulted in protests by members loyal to Agbede.

Societynow.ng learned that the violent attempt to protect the interest of Agbede in the Lagos island base of his strongest supporter, Kunle ‘’Poly” Lawal resulted in the death of three people.

Kunle Poly reportedly scampered underground as police launched an investigation into the matter.

Societynow.ng further gathered that uncomfortable with the situation in Lagos, Baruwa – the Union’s national president – ordered a three man panel to go and make peace and ensure the NURTW image and interests are protected.

‘’The peace effort resulted in the surrender by Agbede that he accepts Oluomo as state chairman’’ societynow.ng gathered.

Insiders confirmed that Agbede publicly raised Oluomo’s hand as the new man in charge at the Union’s secretariat in Oko-Oba, Lagos and other loyalists of the former chairman yet to join ranks with Oluomo followed suit.

‘’Except there are other hidden plots, this naturally ends all opposition to MC Oluomo’s emergence as chairman of the NURTW in Lagos state’’ an insider asserted.
