Details: Olisa Metuh Finally Walks Out Of Prison

Olisa Metuh is finally out of prison.

The former National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gained his freedom from Kuje Prison on Thursday, December 24, 2020.

This development is the result of the nullification of the seven years jail term Metuh was serving at the custodial centre.

The Federal High Court presided over by Justice Okon Abang handed the seven-year jail-term to Metuh.

The case that resulted in the sentence was initiated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) which arraigned Metuh on seven counts of money laundering for allegedly receiving N400 million from the office of the National Security Adviser.

The trial court presided by Justice Abang pronounced him guilty on all counts of money laundering and sentenced him to seven years in prison on February 25, 2020,

But Appeal Court last week upturned the judgment with the declaration that the high court judge exhibited bias against Metuh and ordered a retrial.
