Emerging details have that the kidnappers of 156 students in Niger State have double the ransom demanded for the release of the victims.

Kidnappers are said to have made a fresh demand of N200m ransom from the parents of the victims.

The new demand is double of the initially N100m for the release of the students forcefully taken away from their place of learning.

The victims were abducted from the school, Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School Tegina town on Sunday, May 30, 2021.

The school is located in Raji Local Government area of Niger state.

A report monitored by societynow.ng on dailypost.ng revealed that the kidnappers have threatened to start killing the victims if the ransom is not paid by Thursday.

, “the bandits are serious about killing our children if we cannot pay. We are poor people, we don’t have such money, we plead with the government to come to our assistance. We are feeling so abandoned.” the report quoted Mallam Alli Mohammed, a Tipper driver and father of one of the victims.
