Babajide Sanwo-Olu is the Governor-Elect of Lagos state. Sanwo-Olu has a deputy in the more popular and politically established Femi Hamzat.

The Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat ticket is a ‘’marriage of convenience’’ between the major political forces in the ruling party in Lagos state that limited outgoing governor Akinwunmi Ambode to one term – and retained the reins of government within the All Progressives Congress.

Keen watchers of event foretold it is a matter of time before the eruption of conflicts over how things get done in the running of the state, even before the election was won.

It is an open secret that Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat are backed – individually – by forces clandestinely wrestling for control of Lagos state.

According to a source, the recent picture of Sanwo-Olu’s visit to President Muhammadu Buhari tells the perfect tale of raging underground battle in Lagos state ahead of the May 29 swearing-in ceremony.

Sanwo-Olu visited Buhari with Hamzat in tow and both enjoyed equally prominence during the engagement.
