Popular politician Aswijau Bola Ahmed Tinubu was a guest of President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Villa in Abuja yesterday, Monday, January 7, 2020.

But despite the assertion by Tinubu that the visit was not about who succeeds President Buhari in 2023, the checks made by societynow.ng revealed that the development has further fueled speculations about who becomes the next president of Nigeria.

Information pieced together revealed that comments on traditional and social media about Tinubu’s visit revolve around the 2023 election.

Tinubu who declared to journalists after his visit to Buhari that ” Anybody talking about that (2023 election) now is just completely restless and not focused on the agenda of nation-building and development of our country.” has been bedeviled with talks of the ambition to become the next president of Nigeria with different campaign groups springing up to trumpet the agenda, including one that had his son, Seyi Tinubu as special guest in Oyo state.

Societynow.ng’s investigation revealed that while Tinubu also declared that ” that any lover of this country will not talk about the succession plan yet” in his chat journalists after he visited President Buhari, those who favor his Presidential ambition continue to slant his visit to President Buhari in favor of their narrative that ” Tinubu is the right choice to become president in 2023” and that the visit is part of the ”positioning” to get things right.
