Details As Oyetola Secures “Joker” Against Aregbesola

The Governor of Osun State Gboyega Oyetola is believed to have secured a major joker against his predecessor Rauf Aregbesola according to words on the streets.

Aregbesola and Oyetola are engulfed in a passionate make or mar supremacy fight.

Oyetola, accused of weeding out Aregbesola’s loyalists from plum positions in government and party structures, has struck a “defining deal” with popular politician Iyiola Omisore.

Omisore, a former Deputy Governor and Senator was the legend of Osun politics before the advent of the political machinery that made Aregbesola the Governor between November 2010 to November 2018.

Though Aregbesola upstaged Omsiore as the new power in the politics of Osun state in the two terms of 8 years that he reigned as Governor, it took the support of the former Deputy Governor to help him install Oyetola – who was his Chief of Staff – as a successor in an election that spiraled into a re-run.

Ironically, the promises that made Omisore who was the the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the same election to throw contest the way of Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were not upheld – even after the former Senator defected to the APC,

Societynow.ng gathered Aregbesola was fingered as the architect of Omisore’s perceived misfortune as part of efforts to “stay in charge”.

“The Senatorial slot promised Omisore was given to Aregbesola’s loyalist while he claimed the ministerial seat that was supposed to be another consolation for himself” Societynow.ng learned.

Aregbesola is the current Minister for Interior.

The information at hand revealed that Oyetola has leveraged Aregbesola’s actions to secure a defining deal with Omisore against the minister.

“The ploy is simply, Aregbesola is seen as common enemy who wants to make both of them irrelevant in the scheme of things. They have decided to join hands to switch the table on him. The objectives are that Oyetola will get his re-election and Omisore his return to Senate ambition actualized based on agreement now written in finer prints” Societynow.ng learned.

The word on the street is that getting a firm agreement with Omisore by Oyetola will prove a defining turn in his raging make or mar supremacy battle with Aregbesola.
