Details As Obasa Retains Seat As Lagos Speaker

Rt Hon Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, will be the Speaker of 9th Legislative Assembly of Lagos House of Assembly which will be inaugurated on Friday, June 7, 2019.

I reliably gathered that members of the assembly have unanimously agreed to return Obasa and other principal officers of the assembly except Hon Tayo Oduntan – Oyeledun , the Deputy Chief Whip who did not return for the 9th assembly.

Other returning principal officers are ; Hon Wasiu Olatunji Eshinlokun- Sanni, the Deputy Speaker, Hon Sanai Agunbiade , the Majority Leader, Hon Olumuyiwa Jimoh, the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon Rotimi Abiru, the Chief Whip.
I also gathered that Hon (Mrs) Rotimi Mosunmola Sangodara may become the new deputy Chief Whip.

Aside Hon (Mrs) Tayo Oduntan- Oyeledun , Alimosho 2, who will not be returning for the 9th assembly, there are 10 other members of the 8th Legislative assembly that will not be returning too.

They are : Hon Olufemi Famakinwa , Ajeromi- Ifelodun 1, Hon Dipo Olorunrinu , Amuwo- Odofin 1, Hon Akeem Bello, Amuwo – Odofin 2, Hon Olusegun Olulade , Epe 2, Hon Hon Oludayo Saka Fafunmi , Ifako-Ijaiye 1, Hon Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo, Kosofe 1, Hon Shakirudeen Olusola Giwa, Lagos Island 2 , Hon Oladele Adekanye , Lagos Mainland 1, Hon Adefunmilayo Tejuoso, Mushin 1 and Michael Olarenwaju Ogunyemi, Ojo 2.

There will be valedictory plenary session for the 8th Legislative assembly members tomorrow, Thursday, June 6, 2019 .
