The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) insists on a showdown with the Governor of Kaduna State Nasir El-Rufai.

The state chapter of the NLC urges workers to disregard a directive by the government against the planned five days working strike to protest actions against the welfare of the workers societynow.ng learned.

The strike is earmarked to begin on Monday, May 17, 2021.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the Kaduna State chapter of the NLC, Comrade Christiana John Bawa accuses the El-Rufai administration of treating workers unfairly.

The statement claimed things has gotten to the level that no employee of the state government has job security.

She alleged that in April 2021 the state government sacked over four thousand workers without recourse to due process societynow.ng gleaned from a report on dailypost.ng.

John Bawa stretched the allegation further with claims that thirty thousand workers have been sacked by the present administration since it took till date – with their entitlements unpaid.

The five days warning strike, according to the Secretary to the NLC in Kaduna, is aimed at protesting the ant-workers actions of the government.

Urging workers to remain steadfast,the NLC scribe disclosed that National President Ayuba Waba and other association’s top shots will be on ground to provide support.

She explained that all affiliates of the NLC in the state are expected to join the industrial action with teachers, local government and the state workers leading the charge.
