The battle to determine who emerges the next governor of Ogun state has taken another interesting twist.

A mock election is ongoing in the state capital, Abeokuta.

And the winner will be announced on Friday, August 31, 2018, societynow.ng learned.

The mock election is being conducted by a radio station, Rock City F.M.

Societynow.ng learned voting is being done via calls to the broadcast station’s current affairs programme ‘Day Break Show’, and comments on its Twitter handle.

Calls to the programme to vote is said to begin at 9.15a.m daily while the twitter “voting” has no time barrier.

Societynow.ng learned the mock election started on Monday, August 7, 2018, and is scheduled to last till Thursday, August 30, 2018.

The winner will be announced on ‘Day Break Show’ on Friday societynow.ng learned.

“It’s like an opinion poll, listeners are invited to call in or comment on twitter and name their preferred aspirants amongst the all those jostling to become next governor of Ogun state” societynow.ng

Points are being compiled against the aspirants based on the number of times the names are mentioned societynow.ng learned.

Amongst those jostling to succeed outgoing governor Ibikunle Amosun are Ladi Adebutu, Tolu Odebiyi, Bimbo Ashiru, Gboyega Isiaka, Jimi Lawal, Muyiwa Oladipo, Gbenga Kaka, Dapo Abiodun, Abdulkabir Akinlade, Suraj Adekunbi and Olorunimbe Mamora,

Societynow.ng gathered even before the outcome is announced, the mock election has been tagged sectional and limited to state capital Abeokuta, where the broadcast station is situated.
