The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expelled its party chairman.

The sent away chieftain was the caretaker chairman of the ruling party in Yola South Local Government area of Adamawa state.

He is Sulaiman Adamu who was at the centre of unpleasant comments about President Muhammadu Buhari in a leaked recording.

The statement issued by National Secretary of APC, John Udoedehe which announced the expulsion of the chairman stated he was found guilty of “unwholesome utterances on President Muhammadu Buhari, the Leader of the Party”.

“He was also found guilty of bringing the image of the party to disrepute thereby creating doubt on his leadership quality and loyalty to the party.”

The statement by Udoedehe according to a report monitored by societynow,ng on dailypost.ng also revealed that the decision to expel the erring chairman was “part of the resolutions reached at the 16th meeting of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) held at the National Secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday.”

The resolution was reportedly adopted based on the recommendations of the disciplinary panel set up by the Adamawa State Working Committee.
