The tide has turned in Edo state and friends have become foes.

Governor Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy Phillip Shaibu are at odds and things have gone so bad that one has “abandoned” the state for the other.

Deputy Governor Shaibu is said to have temporarily relocated to Abuja as Governor Obaseki explores means to unseat him.

The Governor’s grim resolve has forced the Deputy Governor to seek rescue in the hope of the common man – the court of law.

Shuaibu has gone to court to stop his impeachment by Obaseki.

In a strange twist of fate, the Deputy Governor is seeking “refuge” where the former mentor he joined hands with Obaseki to diminish – Adams Oshiomhole – hibernates in elevated status.

Oshiomhole, the former Labour leader and Ex-Governor of Edo state, who groomed Shaibu for greater things before he was turned upon, is one of the influential Senators operating at the National Assembly in Abuja.

While at war Shuaibu and Obaseki are members of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Oshiomhole is a top level player in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC),
