“Dead” Ekiti Lawmaker, Afolabi Akanni Released By DSS Without Charge

Honourable Afolabi Akanni, the House of Assembly member from Ekiti State, detained by the Directorate of State Security has been released without any charge.

Many sources in Ekiti revealed that he was released yesterday evening and has checked into a private hospital in Abuja due to his deteriorating health condition.He has been in in detention for weeks and just last week he made his first public apperance after the State Government claimed he had died in the hands of the DSS.

We gathered that immediately he arrived, he administered intravenous fluid. But we gathered that he was treated for malaria at the DSS detention facility after he collapsed two times. Afolabi who was very weak told Afolabi Akanni

early visitors that his release is probably connected to his deteriorating health situation, adding that he was not told by the DSS operatives why he was he held.

Afolabi was picked up on March 4 when DSS operatives stormed the premises of the State House of Assembly in Ado-Ekiti.
