Defenders of Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun appear to have gone to sleep.

The embattled Governor continues to take major hits that further slip his image as the strike in Ogun State continues.

The striking workers have been putting all manners of posts and materials that portray the governor as grappling with governance – including a viral video where protesters tell him to pack and go.

Labor leaders claim Governor Abiodun has refused to have direct contact with them while his negotiating team leader by Secretary to the State Government Tokunbo Talabi, Commissioner for Finance Dapo Okubadejo, and Chief of Staff Shuaib Afolabi Salisu continue to drag their feet.

Labor leaders led by Comrade Bankole Emmanuel are all over the radio stations drumming up sympathy from the general public to their cause while Governor Abiodun’s defenders stay off, as this afternoon.

The workers have turned their grouse against Governor Abiodun to getting their support to win last year’s gubernatorial election on pretense.

‘’The major reason labor supported him was because of the pledge to fulfill the demands workers are at war with him over’’ societynow.ng learned.

Labor leaders are especially miffed that the Governor who was very accessible pre-election now gives them a wide berth post-election.

The embattled governor has been nicknamed artful dodger as a result of this ‘’attitude’’ as the strike gets underway.

Today, Wednesday, September 16, 2020, is the first day of a 7days warning strike by workers before an indefinite strike till demands are met by the government is embarked upon.

Societynow.ng gathered that the ongoing strike in Ogun State is ‘’total’’ as it cuts across all cadres of staff in ministry and government agencies – including the nerve of the governor’s income, Internal Revenue Service.

The workers are agitating for the payment of the new minimum wage as agreed and singed as well as payment of pensions and gratuities to retirees amid agreement on other welfare issues as pledged by the Governor.
