Cooking Gas Skid Proprietors Association of Nigeria ( CGSPAN) an umbrella body for the LPG distribution to end users has lend a voice to support the statement of the Honourable minister of state for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu on the availability of gas filling skids in all petrol stations across the country.

Ministers of State for Petroleum Reaources made the statement recently during the commissioning of Nigerian Army Welfare Limited by Guarantee, NAWLG/Gasland Nigeria Limited, Liquefied Petroleum Gas plant in Mambila Barracks, Abuja, and the launch of LPG Micro Distribution Centres in Nigeria Army barracks and cantonments.

In his statement, Kachukwu said the Federal government is working on legislation to compel every Petroleum marketer to have gas filling plants in all petrol stations.

In his address in Abeokuta, Ogun State on Tuesday, Chairman of CGSPAN, Alhaji Adebisi Bada said having LPG Skid in filling station is safe and appropriate. “Skid operations in filling station to the best of my knowledge is very safe contrary to some naive opinion from some quarters. In as much as appropriate safety measures are in place by the operators, which the association is being encouraged among members”.

Bada emphasise that Skid operations will provide thousands of jobs for the youths and enable availability of LPG to the end users across the country. “Having a LPG skid operation either as a stand alone or add-on will provide jobs for the youths and bridge the gap between the cooking gas users and distributors.

In his word, Chairman of the association also advised the Minister and Department of Petroleum Reaources DPR to speed up the legislation so Nigerians can have access to our abundant gas like every other nations in the world.
