Again Ibe Kachikwu, Maikanti Baru’s Deep Seethed Fight Rears Ugly Head!

The deep seethed fight between minister of state for petroleum resources Ibe Kachikwu and Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation is certainly far from over.

And it just reared its ugly head – again.

Kachikwu just portrayed Baru as providing false information while serving as the nation’s representative abroad.

Baru who attended the 2018 Offshore Technology Conference in the United States of America as Special Guests of Honour – against the directive from Kachikwu – told the international gathering of heavy hitters oil players that the Buhari Administration has approved a total of 13 refineries.

After all the accolades and international mileage that greeted Baru’s revelation abroad, Kachikwu just labeled the disclosure by the Baru as “lies”.

According to information available in a 5 minute video posted by the ministry he heads on facebook, Kachikwu disclosed only 10 refineries have been approved.

And only two have started construction works while the government is pushing the others to emulate them.

The “reality” provided by Kachikwu casts doubt on the credibility of Baru and information from the corporation he heads home and abroad.

“But the more damning observation is that there is such a disharmony between the leading government persons in the petroleum industry that investors should now be scared of taking data they provide as sacred!” a keen observer pointed.

Kachikwu and Baru are currently enmeshed in a messy battle of influence and power in the bid to maintain control of the nation’s highest income earner.
