FIBAN – Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria – has called off its war against Wasiu Ayinde Anifowose the reigning king of Fuji music.

FIBAN reveals inside details of the move in statement signed by Desmond Nwachukwu, the National President, dated October 8, 2020 which reads…

‘’After about three hours of deliberation, the differences between our association, the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) and King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal a.k.a K1 over the brutality meted on one of our members, Wole Sorunke ( MC MURPHY) has been resolved.

King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal’s compliance with the issuance of disclaimer over the disparaging comment of an alleged aide of his, Bayo Olasoju; coming to our choice of venue for the meeting where he humbled himself; stated his side of the story and took responsibility for the actions of his boys were enough reasons for us to sheathe the sword.

By his assurance that nothing of such will happen around him ever again, a cordial relationship between us seem to have been birthed.

‘’The meeting which was facilitated by Mayor Akinpelu, Veteran Actor Dele Odule, Hon Biodun Akinlade and some top government functionaries who preferred to remain anonymous held at the palace of the Olu Itori, Oba Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo. In attendance were Ambassador Tunde Oladunjoye, Fuji Stars, Saheed Osupa, Sefiu Alao and some members of the Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria led by the National President, Sikiru Kolotiti.

Others include Veteran Broadcaster Goke Babalola, Soji Omotayo, Musiliu Sanni, the Chairmen of FIBAN in Ogun and Oyo States Femi Omilani and Seun Awodele respectively as well as the immediate past Chairmen of Oyo and Ogun State Chapters Bayo Sangotiku and Akinyemi Olatoye respectively among other members of the association from different states of the Southwest.

By this statement, the embargo placed on the air play of Wasiu Ayinde Marshal’s songs are hereby lifted and members are advised to comply accordingly.

In the meantime, I want to sincerely appreciate our sister unions and Nigerians across the world for their solidarity.’’
