Celebrities In Panic Removal Of Likely Naira Abuse Videos

on their social media pages and across other platforms

Details revealed that celebrities in different fabrics of society have gone into panic mode.

Information at hand revealed that they are removing videos that can be construed as abuse of Naira on their social media pages and across other platforms.

This development comes on the heels of handing controversial cross-dresser Bobrisky (real name Idri Okuneye) a six-month imprisonment verdict for Naira Abuse. 

The judgment against Bobrisky was given by the Federal High Court, sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, April 12, 2024, in a case prosecuted by the anti-corruption agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The EFCC used third-person videos to establish the case against Bobrisky who pleaded guilty.

“To avoid unwittingly providing evidence for their protection for Abuse of Naira have started bringing videos that might implicate them across social media platforms'” according to those in the know.

In sentencing Bobrisky, the trial judge Justice Abimbola Awogboro held that “The act of mutilating the Naira notes has become a menace, which has continued to damage the image of the country…

“Enough of people mutilating and tampering with our currencies. It has to stop. His will serve as a deterrent to others.”

Before the recent moves to stamp out the practise, the spraying of Naira – which spiralled into abuse –  at social engagement had come a culture of flaunting wealth at such events.
