Billionaire Father, Kesington Adebutu Disowns Son, Ladi Over Pact With Amosun In Ogun Guber
Charles Oyelesi
Kesington Adebutu, the billionaire father of Ladi Adebutu, the gubernatorial candidate recognized by the People’s Democratic Party in Ogun state has disowned him.
No not as a son!
The elder Adebutu disowned his son in his pact with Governor Ibikunle Amosun in the attempt to make the candidate of the Allied People’s Movement, Adekunle Akinlade the next governor of Ogun state.
Ladi joined the team of the successor preferred by Governor Amosun when the supreme court affirmed political foe, Kashamu Buruji as the legally recognized gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Ogun state.
Ladi is the governorship candidate recognised by the PDP in Ogun state and the party has gone as far as expelling Buruji to protect Ladi.
But the supreme court upheld the ruling which gives legal backing to INEC to recognised Kashamu as the authentic candidate.
Despite earlier claims that he would abide by the ruling and support the gubernatorial ambition of Kashamu if he wins, Ladi has entered into a pact with the APM candidate passionately backed by governor Amosun.
Ladi’s action is contrary from the directive of the leader of the PDP in Ogun state, Gbenga Daniel that all loyalists throw weight behind Dapo Abiodun the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun state.
Amosun is rabidly against his party’s candidate Abiodun becoming his successor and has been suspended for openly working against the interest of the APC in Ogun state with his support for Akinlade.
Billionaire Adebutu in distancing self from his son’s pact with Amosun claims Ladi acted on his own and he doesn’t know what has gotten into him.
‘’I don’t know about it’’ the billionaire stated and asserted that move does not have his blessing or endorsements.
The make or mar gubernatorial election is scheduled for Saturday, March 9 2019.
