Behind The Scene: Here Is Gov Ganduje’s Main Reason For Re-Opening Football Viewing Centers In Kano
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje says is the major reason for re-opening football viewing centers in Kano is for economic reasons.
“It is in line with our decision to see that our economy bounces back, through reinvigorating commercial and other business activities in the state, that I have directed all viewing centers to be re-opened from today,” Ganduje stated in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary Abba Anwar.
The statement also asserted that gathering youths at Football Viewing Centres would provide a platform to create awareness about how to manage the pandemic.
The statement did not provide steps on how the government will force youths focused on watching football to pay attention to Covid-19 management narratives neither did it mention the approach to be adopted.
Societynow.ng, however, gathered that what the Governor did not mention is that the re-opening had more to do with growing restlessness of the youths over their ‘’ restricted movements’’ in the fight against Covid-19 than any other reason.
Kano State, after several denials by the Governor Ganduje administration, emerged one of the worst hit by the Covid-19 pandemic – with the Federal Government forced to provide a helping hand in stemming the spread the dreaded virus in the state.
