At last, Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi has found a reason to be relevant in the All Progressives Congress.

Insiders disclosed to societynow.ng that the former Rivers Governor has provided the ammunition to take out his successor, Nyesom Wike.

Wike has become a major life to the bounce back bid of main opposition People’s Democratic Party.

His predecessor, Amaechi belongs to the All Progressives Congress.

Wike has so played his political game that he eclipsed Amaechi at every turn in Rivers state.

Amaechi’s problem became compounded when his hardcore loyalists led by Magnus Abe started seeing Wike as a better politician and relate with the Rivers Governor as such.

Amaechi, whose responsibilities as Transport Minister have been delegated piecemeal to consultants by the federal government, found himself ‘’alienated from his political base”.

‘’And with nothing to really negotiate for something tangle as the election nears he faced political oblivion” a source disclosed to societynow.ng.

But it appears the game is gradually changing for Amaechi.

The minister has found a way to be relevant to his party again.

‘’And it is through Wike, his chief tormentor” societynow.ng learned.

Years of investing in intelligence work Amaechi has started paying.

Sources he buried deep within Wike’s administration – with massive patronage -have started providing ‘’very useful dividends”.

Societynow.ng learned the ‘’fruits” of Amaechi’s investment are the root cause of recent onslaught against Wike by ‘’anti-corruption fighters”.

‘’For Amaechi, this is a huge lifeline because the ruling All Progressives Congress is very keen to take out Wike as a heavy sponsor of the PDP and win Rivers state to take over the inherent benefits there” societynow.ng learned.
