Aregbesola Disowns Message Mocking Oyetola’s Defeat

after Adeleke was declared the winner.

Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola has disowned a message attributed to him mocking the defeat of Gboyega Oyetola as the Governor of Osun state.

Oyetola of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) lost the July 16 gubernatorial election to Demola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

He scored 375,027 votes against Adeleke’s 403,371 votes.

Aregbesola’s social media handles had posted the message “Osun Le Tente,

“‘This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.’- (Daniel 4:17).” after Adeleke was declared the winner.

The former governor was openly against the re-election of Oyetola has, however, disowned the message, deleting and labeling it “unauthorized”.

A statement issued by Aregbesola’s media adviser Sola Fasure headlined “media advise”, explaining the development reads….

IGNORE UNAUTHORIZED MESSAGE POSTED ON OGBENI AREGBESOLA’S SOCIAL MEDIA PAGES

It has come to the attention of the media office of the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, that an unauthorized message was posted on his Verified Twitter and Facebook Pages at about 8:00am on Sunday 17th July, 2022.

The unauthorized messages have now been deleted. Members of the public, especially the media, are advised to ignore!
