Alaafin Of Oyo Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi has shut up the Olugbo of Ugbo Oba Obateru Akinruntan in his supremacy squabble with the Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

The Alaafin while addressing a matter not directly connected with the rift released a list of the most rated kings in Yoruba land.

The Ugbo king was nowhere to be seen in the list with the Ooni copying the uppermost portion of the list of 7 seven.

The ranking of the traditional rulers is contained in the letter the Alaafin wrote to the Governor of Ekiti state Kayode Fayemi chiding him for issuing a query to rated traditional for not attending ‘’ meetings’’.

The Alaafin had written Governor Kayode on the need to thread softly against the traditional rulers who refused to attend traditional council meetings with a subordinate King as Chairman.

In the letter to Fayemi, the Alaafin specifically listed the ranking thrones in Yoruba land namely the Alaafin of Oyo, Ooni of Ife, Awujale of Ijebuland, Alake of Egbaland, Owa of Obokun, Oragun of Ila and Olu of Ilaro as those of the ‘’prominent traditional rulers in Yoruba land’’

‘’The list with Olugbo conspicuously missing effectively puts a lid on Oba Akinrutan’s claims of greater relevance than the Ooni’’ a source pointed out.
