Finally, Alaafin Gives Awujale Justice Against Alake In Age Long Tussle

The Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi has given the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona justice against the Alake of Egbaland Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.

The Alaafin in a widely published correspondence has pulled the plug on claims by the Alake that he ranks higher than the Awujale.

The Alaafin in the released rating that is contained in a letter to the Governor of Ekiti State Kayode Fayemi and specifically stated ‘’prominent’’ and ‘’paramount’’ traditional rulers put Awujale a notch higher than Alake.

Widely known as a stickler for order and fiery in the protection of custom and tradition, the Alaafin listed his throne first, followed by the Oon, the Awujale and the Alake.

Immediately after the Alake is the Owa of Obokun, then the Oragun of Ila with ‘’last but not the least ….Olu of Ilaro’’ bringing the rear.
