Akwa Ibom: Gov Eno Approves Oct 1 Appointment For 4,000 New Civil Servants
are expected to resume work on October 2.
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved the immediate issuance of appointment letters to 4,000 persons recruited into the state civil service, with their appointments taking effect from October 1, 2026.
Although October 1 is a national public holiday, the newly recruited civil servants are expected to resume work on October 2.
Governor Eno gave the approval on Friday, September 18, 2026, during the presentation of the recruitment report by the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service Commission, Mrs Ekerebong Umoh, at Government House, Uyo.
The Governor directed the immediate release of appointment letters to the successful candidates following the conclusion of the recruitment exercise.
The letters will be dated October 1, marking the formal commencement of the appointments, while the recruits are to report for duty the following day.
The recruitment is expected to add 4,000 new personnel to the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service.
