Akeredolu’s Wife Responds To Claims Of Troubling Dep Gov Aiyedatiwa

Betty Anyanwu- Akeredolu, the wife of Governor Akeredolu has reacted to claims of having a hand in the travails of the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Aiyedatiwa has been the target of ceaseless attacks within and outside the government over what is described as attempts to cancel his chances of succeeding Akeredolu as the Governor of Ondo state.

The attacks nearly resulted in his impeachment but the All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders at the national level ordered a “political solution”.

Niyi Akinnaso, a self-described shareholder in the politics of Ondo state highlighted the role of the Governor’s wife in an opinion piece published by The Nation’s newspaper titled “Ondo State On My Mind”.

The publication posted by Betty Anyanwu – Akeredolu (via link) on her social media handle (FaceBook) reads in part “It cannot be denied that Akeredolu and his family contributed to the Deputy’s perceived hurry to become Governor. Before relations between Akeredolu and his Deputy turned frosty, the former had said or implied publicly that the latter would succeed him. However, Akeredolu’s son and his mother (the First Lady) reportedly have not made it easy for Aiyedatiwa to function effectively as a Deputy Governor.”

The governor’s wife expressed her opinion to the assertions with the comment “What a fallacy that Babajide and I didn’t allow Deputy Governor to function!”.
